I aim to create a supportive and non-judgemental space where we can explore and understand the root causes of whatever it is that brings you to therapy.  Attending to your feelings can in itself be a great challenge and I aim to support you effectively with this process. With the development of the capacity in us to fully acknowledge, understand and express thoughts and feelings, which have either been suppressed or which have seemed overwhelming, comes a shift in our relationship to ourselves and to others. From this comes the ability to live from a place of fuller integrity and authenticity and the ability to loosen and change previously stuck patterns of belief.

I’m a Registered, Senior Accredited member of the BACP. Since my original training and qualification in 1998, I’ve had a broad experience of working as a counsellor & supervisor in a number of settings including Child and Adolescent Mental Health, the voluntary sector, a GP practice and a large Employee Assistance Programme. I established my private practice in Birmingham & Malvern in 2004 and have now focused my attention on my Malvern practice. This work includes both long and short term psychotherapeutic work with adults and adolescents.

My qualifications are primarily in Person Centred counselling, including working with art in therapy and Focusing. I also have an Advanced Diploma in Cognitive Behavioural Methods.  My current interests include issues of identity and stigma, the body-mind relationship, trauma and attachment. I am experienced in working with people who are feeling anxious or depressed. As well as talking therapy, I offer you the chance to work with art, images, the breath, mindfulness and bodily felt sensations within sessions.

Through the disciplines of counselling and supervision. I became interested in the body/mind connection. I have a deep respect for the wisdom of the body which led me to qualifying as a Zero Balancing practitioner in 2007 after three years of training. Zero Balancing is a form of hands on bodywork which can offer a gently nourishing experience: throughout the process tensions are released, a natural balance is restored & wholesome realignments are revealed whilst lying fully clothed on a massage couch.

My other interests include walking, tai chi, meditation and the arts.

If you’re feeling stuck, weighed down, in a tangle that seems impossible to resolve or have a sense that you could be living a more authentic life, I’d be happy to have an informal chat with you to see if we feel we can work together.

If you are unable to keep your appointment please give at least 24 hours notice or the full fee may be charged.

I’m a recognised provider of counselling with BUPA and AVIVA.
